Five Challenges of Success

I don’t need to take a poll and Google online the percentage of people that want to be successful to know it’s pretty much everybody. Today we’re going to look at five challenges I believe all of us face to achieve success. So many people have the thought of a dream or an idea they would love to achieve.

The first challenge of success is merely to start towards your idea. The primary reason I’ve heard people don’t reach towards their dreams is a fear of failure. If you fear failure you will talk yourself out of every good idea you ever had. Every major success in history started with an individual taking action on an idea that they had.

The second challenge is getting support from family and friends. Many will cast doubts about your success directly to you providing reasons you shouldn’t even start. The people that are more valuable than gold are the ones in your support group that believe in you and offer guidance.

The third challenge is that you will face obstacles. Success isn’t ever a smooth pathway without bumps bruises and curves. Expect you will have obstacles that need overcome. In the book “The Last Lecture” Randy Pausch says you will hit brick walls reaching for your dream. It’s just a way to see how bad you want it. You must climb over, go around, or tunnel underneath.

The fourth challenge is that you must never quit. I would say that anyone who has accomplished anything at times along that journey wanted to give up. In the automotive world, we all went through 2008-2009 that I am sure many of us wanted to quit. Successful people overcome the negative thoughts and hold tight to their dream doing whatever they can to get back on track. Understand this is a mindset all of us can develop and it’s never easy.

Last but not least is you must enjoy the journey. Life is very short and must be respected. If you don’t enjoy the journey, you’re not successful regardless of how much money you have in the bank. The discipline I have in my personal life is that every day has no limits. The quality of life we live depends on the thought of tomorrow being better. Without that, you will feel trapped and discouraged. Reaching for the stars and only hitting the moon is better than not reaching at all.

Many dealerships have questions and concerns about getting retail repairs at warranty prices. “Will audits increase?” “Will the factory get mad?” “Why haven’t you done this yet?” “What are you afraid of?” I am making myself available to you for a confidential discussion about any issue you have with your fixed operations. The number below is real, so face your fear and use it! If I don’t answer just leave a message and you will hear from me quickly. I find in my life facing fears is always best. Otherwise, they eat away at you!
